Priscilla Kerr

Winnipeg Acupuncture Clinic: Priscilla Kerr

Western and Eastern Medicine in a perfect match.

  • Prairie Acupuncture Clinic was founded in April, 2007 by Priscilla Kerr, a Brazilian born and Medicine School university educated with 5 years postgraduate degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Priscilla and her husband moved from Brazil to Winnipeg to build a new life. Both are Canadians Citizens since April 2011. In Brazil, Traditional Chinese Medicine Education in early 2000’S was only for physicians, at these days they created TCM Universities with the same Canadian Models and anyone with a Science degree can join .But until 2008 was exclusively a  3 year degree to become a Registered Acupuncturist and a total of 5 years practical residency to get a TCM Doctor title. Priscilla wanted to go all the way to achieve the best and highest level of Education to better help her patients and she had trained for 5 years , a total of 5140 hours for holding two titles, as a R.AC and Dr.TCM.

After Kerr arrived in Winnipeg she applied for her TCM ‘s National and Provincial license, which involved being reviewed in all her Brazilian Certifications, passing all exams to hold a National and Provincial License in the same standards as any Province where Acupuncture is Regulated as a Health Profession.  She is an active member and Board Member Director of The Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada and of the Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Manitoba .

    Priscilla’s Training

In Priscilla’s TCM Program she was given a choice of 2 fields of expertise , she chose one in Pain Management and one in fertility matter.  Priscilla worked and trained inside the Orthopedics department of the University of Sao Paulo, Medicine School Hospital that is one of the best Hospitals in South America and they have been referenced all around the world, from this training Pricilla gained a Pain Management TCM certification.  Priscilla also holds a Fertility TCM certification,  having worked with several Fertility Clinics in Sao Paulo, including following patients that the Government of Sao Paulo sponsored for families who could not afford an IVF. In Canada Priscilla has been helping hundreds of couples to reverse their infertility issues and become pregnant. Before coming to Winnipeg she worked as a Family Doctor for 6 years in a private and Hospital practice. Once arrival in Manitoba she learned that to get her MD Diploma revalidated would not be possible once back  in 2007 they did not recognized any Medicine Schools from South America and after 11 years of Education she was not prepared to start from zero but she was grateful that she had chosen TCM and Acupuncture for her residency program and she was allowed to work immediately after her passing Exams for her License in MB and in Canada to practice only as a TCM Dr and Registered acupuncturist. Priscilla built her business inside the Manitoba Clinic facility which  is a private, mulch-specialty medical clinic, founded in 1946.

Since 25 of  June, 2007 she has been collaborating with many professionals in order to help the patients. She does not practice Western Medicine in Canada/ MB.

Since she immigrated, she has accomplished from 2007- 2022 over 21,500 treatments so far. And by Sept 8/2022 over 778 babies were born from diagnosed Infertile individuals after her help using acupuncture and  TCM . Just to clarify these were cases done in mutual collaboration with IVF/ IUI process or 100% natural conception.

Priscilla has been a collaborator with the Acupuncture’s Regulation process together with CMAAC since 2009. She thinks it is important for the patients to have a guarantee that all acupuncturists and TCM, Dr would have proper training, good skills, Knowledge of proper hygienic conducts, using disposable and sterile needles. Manitoba doesn’t have any regulations for acupuncture and anyone with a few hours of training can perform acupuncture. Priscilla is a Member of the Board of Directors of the CMAAC., representing Manitoba and all Canadian Provinces. The Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Manitoba is the Provincial Chapter of CMAAC who is member society of the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) which is the only international acupuncture organization recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO). Quality Acupuncture is a foundation of the Prairie Acupuncture Clinic.

Priscilla Kerr works in Collaboration with several Clinics and Fertility Specialists across North America and in Winnipeg as well. She also works on Fertility protocols for patients from Heartland when their team requests her help to assure the patient has the best results and success combining Western and Eastern Medicine. Her goal is to add results and collaborate with all health care providers for the purpose of the best health and well-being of their clients. There has always been great communications with her colleagues including others health care workers and Therapeutic care professionals where each one understands the value of a multidisciplinary approach.

There is always space for every professional who trained hard and long to achieve a level of expertise that could help people. Priscilla’s education and experience and family background helped her to be the professional she is today.
